Keep an eye out for the following publications:

Independent Prescribing for District Nurses edited b y Amanda Blaber, Hannah Ingram and Jennifer Whibley. This book is specifically aimed at district nurses undertaking independent prescribing within the complexity of contemporary primary healthcare. It will help district nurses build on the skills and practice they have already developed as community nurse prescribers as they develop into the independent prescribing role.

Principles of Palliative and End of Life Care for Paramedics edited by Tania Blackmore. This book provides a comprehensive guide to the philosophy, ethics, symptom control, emergencies and psychosocial aspects that underpin palliative and end of life care in paramedic practice. Chapters are written by specialists in palliative and end of life care, who have decades of experience in providing care for patients in the community. Clinical chapters feature paramedic case study scenarios, aimed at allowing the reader to think about applying theory to practice.

Dermatology: A Quick Reference Guide by Sixty8 Medical. This book is an accessible, easy-to-use, reference guide packed with key information relating to dermatology. Fully illustrated, it provides handy tips on treatment and diagnosis on common skin problems for all those working in a primary care environment.

ParaPass playing cards. Due to their popularity, we are bringing back these unique cards that you can use to quiz yourself and your colleagues. These will be based on our new ParaPass app (see below) and you will be able to purchase them from our website.

What’s new in Apps?

We are very excited that we will soon be launching St John Ambulance on JRCALC Plus which will be tailored to meet the needs of the St John Ambulance staff.

For Community First Responders, we are also launching an app which will provide the JRCALC Guidelines adapted to first response in the community.

We are also excited that our brand new ParaPass app will soon be launched which will bring educational resources including Standby CPD, case scenario assessments and quizzes on the JRCALC Guidelines together.

Conferences coming up

May is looking like a busy month for us! Make sure you say ‘hello’ to us at The College of Paramedics National Conference which is taking place in Birmingham on 13^th and 14^th and at The Emergency Medical Services Congress in Glasgow on 25^th to 27^th.

We will also be heading up to Birmingham for the Emergency Services Show on the 23^rd and 24^th of September.

If you want to keep up to date with all of our future conference appearances, then make sure you keep an eye on our events tab on our website for events that are coming up throughout the year.  

We’re looking forward to catching up with our lecturing friends and colleagues throughout the year as well!
